Yesterday some of our riders headed over to Leicester to race in the spring cup held by Ross Mee. Firstly I would just like to say thank you to all of the riders that showed up to represent our club. Well done all!
To begin the day we had Corey Burt racing in the U12's category and although they were all a lot bigger and older than little Corey he didn't give up without a fight scoring a very well deserved 9 points.
Next up was the U16's where Josh and Nathaniel represented the aces. Josh finished in fourth after a 3 way run off for 2nd. A big congratulations to Nathaniel as yesterday was his first competitive race against the other U16 lads and yet he still rode very well so well done Nat!
Following this was the Women's racing where Wednesfield's two Burt sisters (Georgia and Megan) rode. Megan (who was one of the youngest girls riding) finished on 7 points with older sister Georgia finishing on a big 13 points putting her in joint 5th along side Chloe Whitehead. Well done girls!
Running alongside the Women's was the vets racing where Graham Kemp, Andy Parfitt and Burtie all rode. After suffering from an exclusion in his first race Burtie finished on 5 points as did Andy. Also representing the aces in the vets was Graham Kemp who finished on a great 13 points! So well done to all our vets!
Last up was the Open where Brandon Whetton, Tom Bewick, Chris Jewkes, Lee Kemp and Paul Heard all took to the track. After completing two races and suffering an exclusion Brandon finished on 8 points. Also suffering an exclusion in his first race yesterday was Tom who finished on 9 points. Lee Kemp suffered from a fall but soon got back on his bike finishing on 14 points. Finally after a great day of racing Chris Jewkes took the 3rd spot finishing on 17 points which left Paul Heard claiming the top spot on an amazing 19 points to claim his second win on the Weekend after winning the Frank Knight Memorial on the Saturday well done Heardy! Well done everyone! Once again I would just like to thank all of our riders who showed up yesterday to represent the club and well done to everyone else who rode.
