A cold and windy day in south Wales

This afternoon in Newport, south Wales, on a very cold and windy day. Riders that took part from the Wednesfield Club Brandon Whetton in the picture gave a great display to come second in the meeting. After a runoff with Newports Jacob Soper both finishing on 18 points each Brandon coming out on top.

Also in the meeting from the Wednesfield Club, Harrie Everris after falling off in one of his heats finishing on 11 points. Carl Parfitt ran out with 9 points after a heat 7 ex for moving on the gate.

The Winner of the event for the second year Running was Ipswich's Charlie Rumbold on 19 points.

Wednesfield Aces CSC staged its first British Cycling GO RIDE event of the season

Thirteen riders attended from Wednesfield and Coventry with riders from U8s upto U16s.

In glorious sunshine there were first team riders on hand from Wednesfield who were there to guide and advise the young riders in the sport of Cycle Speedway.

There were some excellent races across all the age groups, with tips from the first team riders on racing lines, starting gate positions and general rules of cycle speedway.

Club manager Roger Ellis said the morning was a great success with fantastic enthusiasm from all the riders and their families and looked forward to more BC GO RIDE events being staged in the future.

The next go ride is Sunday 5th April starting at 11.30am and again open to all young riders from midland league clubs if they wish to join in and Go Ride.
