Now we hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend celebrating our 60th anniversary with us and that you are now all home safe from your travels to us over the weekend it has been so lovely to see so many faces enjoying the sport that we are all involved in.
Yesterday, Sunday the 19th June we started the day with a best pairs meeting with 6 teams taking to the track to begin the final day of celebrations.
After 4 out of their 5 heats being 7-3 to them the Birmingham pairing of Paul Heard and Chris Timms took home the winners jerseys sponsored by Connor Dyke with his company Connors Construction. In second place was the Wednesfield Pairing of Brandon Whetton and Chris Jewkes who were the only pairing to stop Heard and Timms running of 7-3 in the final heat where each team secured 5 points. To complete the podium it was the Exeter pairing being JJ Wildman and Connor Tucker.

2nd Wednesfield: Chris Jewkes and Brandon Whetton 29 points
3rd Exeter: JJ Wildman and Connor Tucker 24 points
Joint 4th Ipswich A and B: Ashley Hill and James Porter (A), Owen Wells and Ben Clarke (B) both teams on 23 points
6th Select: Tom Bewick, Rob and Owen Geach 18 points
Next up was the Women's event with 13 girls in the field nevertheless some good racing was taken to the track for some enjoyable and entertaining racing. Sponsoring the event was Tom Bewick with his company Sweetie Blinders putting up sweets and merch up for grabs. Wednesfield's own Georgia within the line up finished on 15 points putting her in 6th place as the whole line up went in one point descending order.
On behalf of Wednesfield Aces we would also like to wish Honey Whitehead a speedy recovery after an awkward fall yesterday which has resulted in a broken scaphoid. We wish you well Honey and that you have a quick recovery.

To close off the weekend we had the open final with a full line up of 16 riders it saw the return of Wednesfield's own Carl Parfitt jump back on a cycle speedway bike to go on and score 9 points. Despite none finishing in the top three our other Wednesfield riders put up a good effort in the event with Chris scoring 15 points to finish 5th, Brandon Whetton scored 13 points, Tom Bewick and Lee Kemp both scoring 8 points. Winning the Open to secure the £100 cash prize put up by the sponsor of the event Glyn Rowley, Libertas 2 was Paul Heard from Birmingham after scoring 19 points.
