Saturday at Wednesfield Aces we kicked off the start of the British Youth and Junior Series (BYJL). Representing the club we had Jacob Jewkes in the Under 12's event, Corey Burt in the Under 16's and Elijah Ward in the Under 18's category. All the lads rode incredibly well with despite the low numbers across all the categories still provided close and competitive racing.
Jacob scored 8 points from the heat but secured a respectable 17 points from his third place in the close finishing of the Under 12's A final.
Corey scored 14 points meaning he was the second highest scorer from his heats which included two race wins. He then went onto finish second in the A final after attempting a pass on the eventual winner of the category, Coventry's Jude Wilcockson.
Elijah participated in the Under 18's category after finishing on 8 points from the heats then secured himself the 18 grand prix points to finish second in the junior A final behind Birmingham's Connor Steel.

On Sunday a team of five Aces riders headed over to the Perry Barr track for Birmingham Monarchs Club Day who chose to host a 4's event. 5 teams which included 2 teams from Birmingham, Wednesfield, Coventry and Leicester all went head to head to see which team could secured the most points from the 20 heat race formula. The winners of the day was Birmingham's A team on 44 points with Wednesfield finished the day in third place after scoring 39 points following some close races including a crash from Elijah in his first heat. The teams highest scorer went to the returned Ellis Richmond who went on to score a maximum of 12 points from his three rides with Georgia taking one of his rides as the reserve rider of the day to take the opportunity to race against the other Midlands girls to score 7 points from 3 rides. Also included in the team was CJ who secured 6 points from his two second places, Elijah who scored 6 points following his crash in the first race and Ben Morgan contributing another 7 points to the team.
An entertaining day of racing which was enjoyed by all!
