ACES AT LEICESTER
ENGLAND CALL UPS
On behalf of Wednesfield Aces we would all like to congratulate two of our riders who have been chosen to ride for England in the Home Internationals.
Chris (CJ) has been called up to ride in the seniors/ open England team and
Paul will be riding in the vets England Team only months after getting back on a speedway bike.
We know both riders have been training very hard as well as helping to push and coach both our youngsters and junior riders alike.
Huge congratulations to you both for this achievement we shall be supporting you and England all the way!

​ACES AT LEICESTER
Today’s trip was to Leicester for the Midlands GP Round 1 where four aces took to the track in the different events.
First up on the track was Corey and Georgia in the U14’s and U18’s who rode on the same formula but then rode in the respective age categories for the finals. Corey scored 14 points (after beating older sister Georgia twice!) putting him firmly in the U14’s A final which he went and won! With Georgia scoring 10 points which also allowed her to take part in the A final where she finished 3rd.
The next category was the Women’s which again Georgia took part in and after four races and a crash with Leicester’s Honey, we would like to send her our best wishes and a speedy recovery, made it to the A final where she finished fourth.
Finally was the seniors and vets riders where aces Chris and Paul took to the track. Again riding on the same formula but had separate age category finals Chris and Paul both made it to the Over 35’s A final with Chris finishing in first and Paul in second. It was a great day of racing for the Aces.

​5 Aces made the journey to Coventry today to take part in the first round of the BYJL with the sun breaking through the cloud eventually it turned out to be a lovely afternoon.
First up for Wednesfield was Jacob taking part in the Under 8s who rode to a cracking 15 points in the rounds gaining himself a spot in the A final where he rode superbly to finish 2nd.
Next up Corey and Elijah in the Under 14s. This was Elijah’s first experience of competition racing and had only took up the sport when lockdown was lifted this year. He gained a 4th in the A well done, that first meeting is always the hardest, onwards and upwards.
Corey quite the veteran now was taking part in his 6th season of BYJL would have been his 7th if not for this COVID malarkey….. anyway he rode to a solid 15 points and then took 2nd in the A final with what was a closely contested match between himself and Chester from Coventry. Well done boys.
Megan rode in the girls event notching up the points to appear in the A final.
Drawing grid four (Ellis advised on the card!!!) she needed a good gate or plan to stay in contention. Unfortunately on the fourth bend she succumbed to a crash injuring her shoulder in the process however she dusted herself off and took part in the rerun where she pulled a classic CJ manoeuvre of pulling wide into the bend and then tucking in in the corner to undertake 2 of the other riders to then finish 2nd. Top job
Ellis starred in the U16s I say starred has he pulled a classic full sweep scoring maximum of 16 in the heats and a 1st in the A final.
All the boys in this age group were giving it their all, with elbows, bikes breaking at the tapes, falls and some sweet overtaking and undertaking going on.
Well done all next round is at Birmingham on the 10th July start time of 12pm.
