When? Every Tuesday! Start time: 6:30pm - 7:30pm although we advise people to get to the track for 6:15pm so the hour can be spent getting as much time on the track as possible! Who can come to these session? Anyone and everyone is welcome as long as you can confidently ride a bike without stabilisers then you can come and try Cycle Speedway! Our Tuesday sessions mainly focus on the younger riders of the club from Under 8's to Under 18's but if you would like to join pop down for a chat or contact us and we can signpost you to the session that will suit you best! What equipment do I need? As a club we can provide you with our specialist cycle speedway bikes, helmet and gloves. Although if you have your own helmet (that doesn't have a peak) and full finger gloves you are more than welcome to use those. For clothing long sleeve shirts and trousers must be worn along with sensible trainers that you won't mind getting scuffed and a bit dirty. If not suitably clothed then unfortunately you won't be able to ride for your own safety. How much is it? For your first two taster sessions they will be completely FREE! £3.50 per session to borrow a bike and enjoy the hours worth of training. Myself/my child has really enjoyed Tuesday club and wants to take racing further what can we do? Starting this year we are offering riders who want to progress into competitive racing the chance to spend an extra 45 mins with us on the track on Tuesday nights for a racing focused skills session delivered by our qualified coaches and alongside some of our junior riders. This will allow you to further build on your racing skills so that you can begin to enter regional and national events all over the country. To do so a British Cycling Licence will have to be purchased but please come and see us for more information. Where can we find weekly updates about training sessions? Unfortunately, throughout the year there may be times when the track isn't suitable to ride on such as when we have had heavy rain and the track gets flooded so we may have to cancel a session.
