24 riders took part in the event which first started with each rider completing a 4 lap time trial to determine which final the riders would then later be racing in. The fastest 12 riders were then split away into the A final and the formula was devised for their Olympique event while the other 12 riders made up the formula for the B final.
Having recorded the fastest time in the time trials with an incredible timing of 46.16 seconds Lee Aris then went on to drop only two points from his four heats to take the win of the day. Leicester's Mark Whitehead picked up second place following a nasty fall in his second race and to complete the A final podium after finishing in third in the time trials with a time of 47.15 was Aces own Corey Burt at only 15 years old!
Taking the win of the B final formula was again another Aces rider: Jasper Walton, after pulling off some impressive passes he only dropped the one point in his heats to take the top spot on the podium! Second place then went to Michelle Whitehead of Leicester and third to Louis Travers from Birmingham who was the only rider to beat Jasper in the heats!
