On Sunday, our first midland league match of the season took place (finally)! Our apologies go out to Leicester's youngsters as unfortunately we couldn't get together a team due to riders/parents having other commitments. However our division 2 & 1 did not let the wet weather conditions dampen there performances.
Despite the weather not being on our side the division 2 team did not fail to put on a great performance. After drawing in the first heat we then went on to a streak of four 7-3 wins meaning after 5 heats we already had a 16 point lead over the monarchs. By the last heat we had a 44 point lead thanks to two more 5-5 heats as well as two 6-4 wins and an excellent six other 7-3 wins! Leaving the final score as 53-97 to Wednesfield! Well done lads!
Our Division 2 side included:
Tom Bewick - 16 points
Graham Kemp - 17 points
Alex Aris - 18 points
Harrie Everiss- 15 points
Josh Whetton - 16 points
Tyler Bould - 15 points
The Division 1 side also put on a great performance having a brilliant 36- 53 lead over the monarchs by half time, even after CJ suffered a tape exclusion in heat 3 giving Leicester a 7-2 advantage. Following the interval we brought home the win after getting another two 6-4 wins as well as three 5 all heats and four 7-3 races for us. Meaning we finished 38 points ahead with the end result being 70-108 to Wednesfield. Once again well done everyone!
Results of Division 1 team:
Lee Kemp - 15 + 1
Paul Heard - 18 + 2
Matt Smith - 16 + 2
Brandon Whetton - 18 + 2
Chris Jewkes - 7
Mark Griffiths - 16 + 1
Scott Doherty - 10 + 1
Harrie Everiss - 8

1st Youth and Junior League 2018

On Saturday we held the first regional round of the Youth and Junior League and a great day it was too. A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped out, its very much appreciated the help we get from all our volunteers at the track whether you step in to help in the kitchen, do tapes or flags, help set up and pack away or keeping the track maintained through out the day. Well done everyone!
Now on to the racing. As always the day started with the Under 8's and Under 10's where we had many riders representing the club including: Kylan, Jacob and Ewan in the Under 8's and Joseph, Joban, Peter and Corey in the Under 10's. After both finishing on 8 points Ewan and Jacob met each other in the B final with Ewan coming first and Jacob 2nd. After only dropping one point in the qualifying races Kylan secured his position in the A final where he came second from the gate one. Within the Under 10's B final we had Joban who finished 4th, Joseph who finished 3rd and after just missing out on the A final Peter claimed the win for the B final. After finishing on a grand 16 points in the qualifying races and pulling off probably the best pass of the season so far Corey easily qualified into the A final where he finished 3rd. Well done boys!
Next up representing the club was Ellis who has moved up into the Under 14's this year and went and scored a brilliant 12 points. As well as finishing 2nd within the A final so well done Ellis! We then moved on to the biggest category of the day; the Under 18's. Representing the club we had Tyler, Josh and Nat. Partaking in his first youth and junior league Nat came second in the D final. Next representing Wednesfield in the Under 18's finals was Josh who just missed out on the A final on 13 points finished 2nd in the B final. Moving up into the Under 18's Tyler went out and scored a brilliant 14 points to put himself into the A final where he finished 4th. Well done you three!
Running along side the Under 18's we had the girls racing where Georgia and Megan both rode. After moving up an age category Megan finished on 9 points and went on to the B final. Megan also seemed to have Georgia's curse of picking gate four when it came to finals so it was the gate four she had and after battling hard she finished in 4th. Following the B final was the A final where Georgia finished 3rd from the usual gate 4 she did however only drop one point in the qualifying heats. Well done girls! Well done everyone you have made your club proud! Once again thank you to everyone who helped out to make this day great! More photos will be available as soon as possible... ♧♧♧
