On Saturday we had 6 of our riders take to the track to compete for places in finals and points in the second round of the British Youth and Junior League.
First up we had Finley in the Under 8’s gaining more experience with competitive racing did well to score 7 points and finished second in the C final!
In the Under 10’s category we had 2 riders competing, Cleo and Jacob. After only being apart of our club for 2 weeks Cleo gave competitive racing a shot and did really well to put in her 3 laps in each race she did- well done Cleo! Jacob after winning the runoff for a spot in the C final then went on to win it!
Next up was Corey in the Under14’s after scoring 10 points in his heats following some spectacular legendary ‘CJ’ passes and even sliding around a corner somehow staying on his bike he went on to finish second in the B final.
Lastly, we had Megan and Ellis racing in the Under 18’s and girls category. Ellis after an unlucky fall in his second race finished the heats on 13 points and then finished 2nd in his A final. Megan experienced her first time racing again since injury and did well to keep putting in her 4 laps to then finish 4thin the A final.
Of course, the day would not have been a success without our lovely club volunteers thank you and well done to you all! We would also like to thank Andy for refereeing most of the day but also a special thank you to Leon Mower for stepping in last minute and refereeing a few matches for us also. Also thanks to Kesgrave and Maddie for the photos I've pinched
National round 3 will take place on the 20th August at Newport.
