Well what a very busy weekend it has been for the Aces. On Saturday we held a very successful open day where we saw members of the community who had never tried cycle speedway before giving it a go. Some of which we hope to see in the coming training nights. A tombola, BBQ, refreshments, guess the sweets in the jar, football card, cake and samosa sales all raised nearly £200 for the club so well done and thanks everyone who helped.

Sunday more action was seen on our track as we held the fifth round of the Supertrax Battle of Britain where Midlands vs the North and Scotland went head to head to score their regions vital points. Juniors finished 83-97 to the North. Seniors finishing 121-78 to the Midlands there was great racing by all. Aces Tyler played a big part in scoring points for the Midlands junior team as well as joining older aces members Paul Heard, Chris Jewkes and Lee Kemp in the Senior Midlands team.

However, that’s not the only race action that took place yesterday as down in Norwich the 3rd round of the Women’s League took place. Although the Midlands where missing a few riders they didn’t let it get to them as all girls rode their best scoring points for the Midlands region. Aces Megan and Georgia both helping to pick up extra points in the team races. Next was the individual races where both the aces girls scored so very good points with Megan scoring 10 which placed her in the C final due to countback but still rode very well in her five-rider final and secured her the 3rd place. After scoring a great 13 points Georgia made it to her first A final of the Women’s League season and after picking the usual gate four and an unlucky slip which lost her the third place respectively finished fourth in the A. Well done everyone what a great weekend it has been now bring on next week for all our riders who are riding in the British finals to hopefully earn themselves the title as British Champion for the 2018 season we wish you all the best of luck.
