First time managing the midlands squad and Aces manager Megan lead the girls to victory for a Midlands Win of the first Women’s league round down at Hethersett. After a rocky start to the match it was kept close in scores throughout the whole match but just before half time the pairing consisting of our own Georgia and the Sheffield signed Lizzie pulled off a 7-3 after rerun and a tangle going into the first bend helped to start pulling the midlands team ahead.
Although tired Georgia still went and completed the individual finishing second in the C final.
A lot closer to home East Park staged the second flexi league fixture on Sunday 11th May 2025, after the riders had registered Lee Aris was on hand to choose the appropriate formulas to be used. In the end an individual was chosen for the juniors, and a team event was chosen for the more experienced riders.
The weather was amazing, and the spectators were treated to some excellent racing, The referee for the day was Matt Wilcockson who stepped in at the last minute, which was really appreciated.
The juniors didn’t disappoint and considering the hot weather they individually rode their little hearts out, Wednesfield Aces Nyla Aris fell in her first race and failed to finish, it was the same for Wednesfield Aces rider Jacob Jewkes who fell off in his second race and like Nyla failed to finish. Luckily none of them was injured. The star on the day was Wednesfield’s Erica Aris who rode fantastic and finished joint first with Sophia Dehar from East Park on 18 points. Due to the hot weather it was decided not to have a run-off. Jenson Cummins from East Park came third on 17 points.
Wow what can be said about the senior racing, it was just so fast and competitive, to be honest it was a shame that the heats were not recorded as they were that good. In the end Team 1 won on 42 points that comprised of Paul Heard (19 Points), Nat Ward (6 Points) and Paul Timms (17 Points).
