Despite being a few riders down due to holidays, the Wednesfield Aces delivered a determined and highly competitive set of performances across all age groups.
Under 8s
With 16 riders lining up in the u8s, Wednesfield fielded a strong trio: Leo Scrivens, Ellis Doherty, and debutant Oakley Doherty.
Ellis Doherty produced one of the standout rides of the day, scoring a superb 14pts in qualifying to book his place in the A Final. After a fierce battle in the main event, he narrowly missed the podium, finishing 4th — an excellent achievement in a tough field.
Leo Scrivens fought hard throughout qualifying, finishing on 8pts and earning a spot in the C Final, where he secured 3rd place with a composed ride.
Making his competitive cycle speedway debut was young Oakley Doherty impressed with his determination, scoring 5pts in qualifying and progressing to the D Final, where he stormed to 1st place — a brilliant way to mark his first outing.
Under 10s
Wednesfield’s sole representative in the u10s was Arlo Scrivens, who showed grit and consistency all afternoon.
Arlo finished his qualifying races on 8pts, placing him in the B Final, where he delivered a strong ride to take 2nd place.
Under 14s
In the u14s, Jacob once again demonstrated his growing confidence and race craft.
His 8pts in qualifying earned him gate 1 in the B Final, and he made full use of it — powering to 1st place and securing another excellent result for the Aces
