FINALS DAY RESULTS AND WE HAVE A SILVER MEDALIST
Yesterday was the big finals day event of the 2025 British championships. Out of the aces Chris Jewkes and Lee Aris were up first in the Over 40’s event. Starting off strong with a race win Chris Jewkes went on to finish on 13pts. An incredible effort!
Teammate Lee had incredible success only dropping 2 points throughout the match to finish in second place overall for another year. Great achievement Lee well done.
Georgia was then up in the women’s events held some strong gates and finished on 9pts and smiling the women’s racing was as strong and as competitive as ever and we wish all those who came off speedy recoveries as the girls prepare for the world championships.
That’s a wrap for the 2025 British Championships thank you to parents, teammates and everyone back at home for the support over the weekend. Next year the British will be returning to the midlands so we shall see you all there!

SOLID EFFORT BY CJ TODAY
After qualifying through to the under 18’s final with his first race win Corey went on to score 15 points in his final this put him in joint third place! A four way run off would decide who would take the bronze medal with Corey out on the gate four it was all to battle for. After a couple of reruns one which saw a rider excluded for excessive force with an unfortunate slip on the bend mid race Corey finished the run off in third placing him 4th overall in Britain a fantastic achievement! Well done Corey!
He was then on the Exeter track again for his second senior qualifier to add to his 13pt total. After a fall in one of his rides causing injury to his hand/wrist Corey managed to still add another 13pts to his total to finish on a fantastic 26pts. Though not enough to make the cut into the final (31pts needed) this is a great achievement for Corey it being his first year having a crack at the senior tournament.
He’ll finally get a day off racing now tomorrow but big sister Georgia will be taking to the Southampton track for the women’s final as will Aces riders Lee Aris and Chris Jewkes for the Over 40’s final.

DAY ONE RESULTS AND DAY TWO PLANS FOR CJ
Yesterday over at Poole Jacob and Nyla took to the track in their respective finals. Jacob finished on an impressive 14 points to finish 7th overall in his category. Nyla also had a great day racing scoring 11 points including a race win to finish joint 5th in the girls U14’s category. Well done to you both.
Over at Southampton Corey had some really great rides considering its his first year entering the open competition. Corey finished on 13 points after suffering from a minus one deduction in his final heat. Great work Corey.
For day two Corey continues his British finals weekend journey this time over at Exeter with the junior pre qualifier to hopefully secure his spot in the final straight after and will then race in his second open qualifier later in the day.

On Saturday it was brilliant to see some great commitment from our younger riders who travelled to Exeter for the second round of the British Youth and Junior League. Many congratulations to George who finished on 6 points from his heats and finished 3rd in his final. Older brother Jenson scored 9 points and had to race in a run off for his final and eventually finished 4th in the B final. Amazing work well done boys! Corey also made the trip down, scoring a max in the qualifying heats and with another 2nd place in the A final in the Junior category, Well done Corey!

Sunday Georgia and Megan headed over to Newport to race and manage the Midlands Women's team. From the four rides she rode in the team match G scored 11 points including 3 second place finishes. Megan was able to manage the team to finish just a point behind the winners to finish in 2nd place on the day but the Midlands team still holds onto the series lead with just one round to go!

Back at home Ashmore Park hosted the FlexiLeague — and it did exactly what it was designed for: competitive racing in a relaxed, no-pressure format. Riders simply turn up, enjoy five heats, and get that all-important Sunday racing fix.
Despite plenty of other meetings taking place elsewhere, the format shone, with 19 riders taking part — including a very welcome five from East Park. That’s a big boost for the club’s revival, and long may it continue!
The afternoon was a pleasure from start to finish, with every rider playing their part. The track and surroundings looked fantastic, thanks to the hard work of Simon “Spock” Oakley, whose preparation made Ashmore Park a brilliant stage for the action.
FlexiLeague gives any rider the chance to get on track — perfect for East Park and for Birmingham riders not involved in National League fixtures.
Today, there was one clear winner: Cycle Speedway. Many congratulations to all our riders who took part!
