After a very VERY busy two days of the European championships being held at Wednesfield they firmly hand over the baton to Birmingham to host finals day today. So how have our aces got on so far?
In the nations cups event England took all the spoils coming away with gold in every category!!
We had Corey Burt compete in his final ever Junior England event with all seconds and a race win he kept England in contention till it came down to the very last heat for England to take the win. Lee Aris also took to the track in the vets nations cup putting in a strong performance. That event too came down to the wire where his team mate Mark Boaler represented England against Poland in a two way run off for the top spot on the podium.
Well done Lee and Corey you certainly made the club and country very proud!
Individually:
Chris Jewkes has qualified for the vets final
Lee Aris has qualified for the vets final and for the Open semi finals which take place first thing this morning
Corey Burt has qualified for the junior final and only missed out on the open semi finals by a point
Scott Doherty unfortunately had to with draw after his first open qualifying match after becoming unwell.
For the girls Georgia and Nyla the women’s final was in touching distance with both of our girls being one point off the run off for a spot in the final in their respective semi finals. Nyla certainly impressed many with her riding skills the future is looking very bright for this young ace so she will be one to watch next time round
Many congratulations to all of our riders best of luck to Lee, Chris and Corey in their finals today we will be cheering you on all the way
